Our bi-monthly Parent Carer Forum is a non-judgemental space where parent carers can meet other parent carers to gain support, knowledge and have their voice heard on the planning and development of local services.
Our Parent Carer Forums include:
- Regular training sessions to help parent carers understand, support and advocate for their child or young adult. These have included sessions with specialists in areas such as Understanding the Law, Safeguarding, Challenging Behaviour, Resilience and Epilepsy.
- Consultations with the local authority, educational settings, health providers and other organisations to help evaluate and shape the development of services, ensuring they meet the needs of children and adults with disabilities and their families.
- Walking tour trips for parent carers.
