SEND Reforms: Barrister Timothy Baldwin
We are delighted to welcome Timothy Baldwin to our forum. The SEND reforms have created a lot of anxiety for our families, Tim will give us an outline of the reforms and how they may potentially impact children and families.
Tim is a barrister at Garden Court Chambers. He is co-convener of the Court of Protection (CoP) & Mental Health Team and has considerable experience in CoP proceedings concerning health and welfare decisions and accommodation & Deprivation of Liberty (DoL) safeguards issues for applicants and all respondents, including emergency applications and instruction by the Official Solicitor. He represents patients at Mental Health Review Tribunals, in judicial review claims, nearest relative displacement applications and unlawful detention claims. He also acts in cases with overlapping issues concerning criminal convictions, discharge into and care in the community
