Carer’s advocacy service supports parents and carers of adults with learning disabilities. It ensures continuity of support for families when the person they care for transfers from children’s to adult services.
The service provides independent practical support, advice and information on the following:
- Benefits and Form Filling.
- Issues in relation to Housing, Social Services, Carers Assessments.
- Support coordinating and attending meetings/reviews.
- Support with complaints.
- Liaising with services and professionals to access the best support for families.
- Provides a Quarterly Newsletter for parents/carers.
Carers Advocacy Service ensures that parents are at the heart of service development for themselves and the person they care for. We also offer parents the opportunity to get together at different events such as theatre trips or lunches.
