Decision Time…Money……Who Cares for Who!

August 31st, 2010 - Category: News

This Autumn, the government will decide what funding it will allocate to services for disabled children and their families over the next five years.  Some Local Authorities have already started to close or cut vital support services to families.  As we know this short sightedness will have huge impact on families and will save absolutely nothing in the long run.  We also know that without practical support families will quickly reach crisis point.  Full of Life and our members have done so much to change and develop local support services over the past 16 years, so we need to guard what we have achieved. This is the time for you to remember your families needs assessment, and care plan.  For further information about this check the Full of Life Information service legal section or call us for advice on 0208 962 9994.

If you have had cuts to your support services, or a refusal of support please let us know.  You can also contact Every Disabled Child Matters Campaign who are currently gathering evidence to lobby the government not to make cuts and to continue to improve services for disabled children and their families.  You will need to contact Laura, Helen or Lara the Campaign Team at EDCM by Wednesday 8th September, email info@edcm.org.uk

Its amazing that everyone thanks us for the wonderful job we do as parents/carers of disabled children, saving the country billions each year!  But we can only do this with practical support services… so who does actually cares for who?
